Everything you need to know about our virtual care model, state licensing, appointment logistics, and communication guidelines.
Ohio and Florida. I am licensed in these two states, and you must reside in and be physically located in Ohio or Florida during your visits.
To ensure the highest standard of safety and care, I do not prescribe controlled substances.
Medications like certain anti-anxiety medications (such as Xanax) and stimulants (such as Adderall) require close monitoring, physical examinations, and sometimes regular lab testing that cannot be safely managed virtually.
If your medical needs require these types of medications, I recommend establishing care with a local, in-person healthcare provider who can give you the comprehensive support and monitoring you need.
Patients can message their provider using Alma's Secure Messaging feature, though currently, this feature is only available to a select group of clients as part of an early-access rollout. It is a HIPAA-compliant, encrypted messaging system built directly into the client portal.
If your account has access, here is how to use it:
1. Log in to your Alma Client Portal:
Go to the Alma website and log in to your patient account. If you are new to the portal but your provider sends you a message, you will receive an email invitation to create an account.
2. Navigate to the Messages page:
Once logged in, look for the Messages tab in your Client Portal dashboard.
3. Type and send your message:
Write your message in the space provided. Press the Return/Enter key or click "Send message" to deliver it securely to your provider.
When your provider replies, you will see a notification bubble next to the Messages tab if you are actively logged in. If you are not in the portal, you will receive an email notification after 30 minutes of the message being unread.
Not for Emergencies:
Secure Messaging is not intended for emergency use, and your provider may not respond immediately. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 988 or 911 immediately.
